1946 was a year of transitions for the Blue Boy. First the publishing frequency increased after the wartime paper shortage eased up. Cap Jr. stories start showing up in the new Marvel Family title. Gone are the war related stories. Gone are Captain Nazi, Captain Nippon and the rest. Sivana Jr. first battle with Cap Jr. was in CMJ #36 after he had been introduced in a then recent issue of Captain Marvel Adventures. Another major villain was introduced in CMJ #41, the Acrobat. More crime stories, usually with a gimmick, appear along with fantasy and supernatural themes become more prominent. Bud Thompson takes over more of the art. August Froehlich and Gene MacDonald also contribute to the art chores.
